ABOUT

Welcome to Hylton Bromley School of Theatre Dance. Our family run business was established in 1935 by Mrs Marion Bromley, who was later joined by her three daughters known as Miss Hilda, Miss Ruth and Miss Anne.

Over the years the school has had lots of success stories and trained many full time students who have gone on to have careers in the theatre, television and film industry as dancers, choreographers, producers and directors. Names of past pupils you may have heard of include Nigel Lythgoe, Chris Baldock, Chris Power, Roger Hannah, Ben Clare and Ken Warwick.

Currently, all our classes are taught by Miss Anne and Miss Amanda (Miss Ruth’s daughter). We aim to provide a positive, nurturing environment for children from age 3 upwards to come and learn to dance. We offer structured classes, most of which follow a graded syllabus with the IDTA.

The school is registered with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) which is one of the largest organisations for dance , and we pride ourselves on our 100% pass rate in exams entered in various genres.

The teachers are highly qualified and dedicated, with traditional values, whilst regularly updating their training methods and knowledge.

‘When I talk about Hylton Bromley, I always describe it as the place I grew up in. It has always been a home to me, owing to the 16 years I spent learning ballet, tap, modern, theatrecraft, Greek, to name a few. Not only did it teach me to perform, but I also learnt about perseverance, graciousness, resilience, respect and kindness. The standard of dance training is exceptional, and the memories I cherish from my time there are invaluable.
